Why develop a green program for tourism?

Tourism is a major economic resource for many countries.
Tourists are discovering the world with tour operators and travel professionals as their guides. New destinations, often in developing countries, are promoted every year.
The impact tourism has on the natural, social and cultural environment is all too often a heavy and disruptive one.

This is not only a threat to receiving countries but also to the travel business itself.
It is having more and more difficulty satisfying
the growing need of its customers
for authentic and unspoiled destinations.

Sustainable tourism offers a solution.
In this concept,
the interests of tourists and local communities are safeguarded.
Farmers as providers of recreation-possibilities

Sustainable alternatives are carefully adapted
to local circumstances and make optimal use of local resources.
The residents' welfare, as well as their social and natural environment,
are taken into account.
